Background
Founded in 1982, Jeanne C. Byrne, FAIA Architects is located in Pacific Grove, in the heart of the scenic Monterey Peninsula. Jeanne is one of the Monterey Peninsula’s most respected and talented designers, receiving numerous design and professional awards. As a full service architectural firm JCB Architects specializes in custom residential and light commercial projects.
Vision
Architecture is really about people and creating the spaces in which they live and work. We begin our projects by getting to know our clients - not only how they live but how they would like to live. Sometimes these are different. Our goal is to provide architecture that captures a client’s dreams and adds something extra - something beyond what the client had expected.
Beautifully designed architecture is the form that creates the spaces in which people want to live and in which they want to spend time. The spaces we create for each client’s special wishes provide the atmosphere and ambiance that draws them to enjoy living in these spaces.
Environment
Good Architecture has always been, and continues to be, about environmental awareness – natural day lighting; protection from the elements; natural heating and cooling; orientation to the sun, wind and views; and the use of renewable and sustainable materials. Today’s challenge is to take advantage of new more efficient systems, new materials, and new technologies. To make a complete and cohesive project we coordinate the work of our consultants who make up the team for the Client. By using the design principles of good architecture, our site planning and project designs give us the opportunity to incorporate important environmental considerations and elements to benefit both our client and the environment.
Services
From concept development with our client, through completion, our services include schematic design, design development, construction documents, negotiated estimates, and construction observation. We also manage the application, presentation and approval process for the required regulatory agencies on our Clients’ behalf.
We offer a full range of services in the project design phase including site planning, lighting design, kitchen and bath design, exterior and interior finishes, color selections and landscape design. Our design and construction document phases establish the exterior and interior architecture and detailing.
Many additional services may be coordinated or provided by our office. These services can range from scale models and colored renderings to computer generated 3-D models and renderings, any of which can be very useful in assisting the Client in understanding the design of their project.
